Do you think most dictators would have given up the power so easily, like Cincinnatus?

No, I don't think most dictators would have given up their power because most people would want even more power because it is human nature.

No because people were greedy like jules said. They wanted everything they couldnt get. Since power was one of them they wanted it, I dont think most people would give it up as quickly as he did.

I don't think a dictator would ever give up their power peacfully. Most dictators are greedy and would never think of losing their power. I can't believe Andrew thinks they would.

No, i don't think so, because all the power would have went to their head and because like Jules said it's in human nature to be greedy and power hungry, it makes a lot of sense.

No, because people were self centered people and were greedy. Everything that they could get, they got.

I don't think they would have given up power like the other guy because humans are greedy and are power hungry like Jules said. Once they get a little power, they will want more and more until they have all the power.

Yes, I beleive most would give up the power. This is because the dictators were chosen carefully. The people would be reluctant to select a dictator who wouldn't have their best intrest a t heart.

Well, I think that the dictators might have if they were respectable, like the other guy was. But if they were power hungry then they might have been like Hitler. o k i m s l eepy!!!

No because people are greedy and once they get power, they want more. People usually don't want to give something up once they got it.

No. People crave power. Cincinattus probably had predetermined that he would return to his farm, because his farm was more important to him than a position of higher importance. Somebody else would not have given up the dictatorial command.

No, since they probably loved the power and privledges given to them during their role on thrown. I am guessing that Cincinnatus was a man who cared about his country, and not about controlling it. More like he cared if he threw the kingdom into ruin, or killed his subjects for meaningless reasons. Other dictators might not give up the thrown if they didn't care what happened to their people. This is what I think.

although some people would be willing to give up the power, it was probably because they knew the couldnt stage such a coop. The military would have stood on the side of the senate and assembly. However,Julius Cesear was chosen as a dictator, but because he had the military on his side, staying loyal to him. Because of this Cesear knew that the military would help him in keeping power over Rome. And although was prospering as a Republic, it prospered even greater as an empire.
